Engineering
Council of India (ECI) was established in 2002 by coming together of
a large number of professional organizations/institutions of engineers,
to work for the advancement of engineering profession in the country.
The main objectives of ECI are to work for the advancement of engineering
profession in various disciplines and for enhancing the image of engineers
in the society. To this end, ECI is focusing on quality and accountability
of engineers, professionalization and their mobility for delivering
quality engineering services in India and other countries. It has been
organizing National Conferences and other activities on important themes
relevant to the engineering profession’s role in national economic
development. Information regarding ECI is available at http://www.ecindia.org.
|
Recently, Engineering Council of India (ECI) has signed MOU with AICTE
after AICTE made internship training mandatory for all engineering students.
This was to help the engineering institutions (colleges/institutes/universities)
for organising internship training. Some of the institutions have pointed
out the need for appropriate branding when they approach the industry
in this regard.
|
In this context, it
is proposed to provide the AICTE approved engineering institutions,
(which will include colleges, institutes, and universities), with a
facility to get an Affiliate Status of ECI which would help them in
their interaction with students, academia and industry. The Affiliate
institutions can use ECI Affiliate logo and branding, apart from availing
the benefits of
|
a) Interactions with
the Industry.
b) Organising Seminars, Conferences & workshops.
c) Conducting Joint research programs and / or jointly take-up Consultancy
projects. d) Interactions with domestic & overseas peer groups.
e) Exchange programs for Faculty & students.
|
The institutions can apply to ECI for grant of this status for which
they will be required to pay Rs. 20,000 per annum for Colleges/Institutes.
Rs. 50,000 per annum for Universities. (They can pay 10 times to get
a life time affiliation status). GST as applicable shall be extra.
